Healers are the true leaders of the group in dungeons. They decide the pacing by deciding whether or not they’re going to scramble to heal the idiot tank who just pulled half the dungeon while the healer said “need a minute, my kid is sick.” Healers wear robes of many colors, wield staffs, grimoires, or star globes. Every group needs at least one healer to keep the tank alive while he’s taking all the damage and to cast an occasional pity-heal on the damage dealer who forgot that fire is not something that should be stood in.
Healers do not take a lot of damage — a stiff breeze can knock them over. They also don’t crank out high damage numbers on the damage meters. So, if being able to take multiple large blows to the head or see your name on top of the damage meters matter to you, healing probably isn’t going to suit you. However, if you have a somewhat sadistic streak and enjoy the thought of reminding the tank of just who belongs to whom in the dungeon, then welcome to the club!
